WHO & WHAT ARE WE?
bios ][ press
Gun Club is a groundbreaking music and events production collective comprised of a small group of San Francisco music iconoclasts and seasoned events/music promoters and purveyors. We currently produce and run an innovative monthly event and various special events that blur the lines between genres.
We book world-class artists who push the envelope musically and culturally. Our only litmus test is that an artist literally moves us.
Past Gun Club guests have included: Tim Sweeney (DFA), Twitch (OPTIMO), Maurice Fulton (MU), Rub-N-Tug, Joakim (Tigersushi), Kaos (Kitsune), Sal P (Liquid Liquid), Landshark (Coco Machete, Om), Justin Martin (dirtybird), Solar (fistfight), UFO! (Sanguine), Omar (Popscene) and Lemonade.
Our monthly event takes place every fourth Saturday at renown and underground venues in San Francisco.

RYAN POULSEN:: DJ :: MUSIC
|
Music Director and resident DJ Ryan Poulsen is a dance-floor veteran and Gun Club's secret weapon. Ryan has been rifling through re cord stacks since the tender age of 17, cutting his teeth in the clubs and underground warehouses of San Diego and Los Angeles in the mid '90s. This longtime vinyl nerd is one of the few Stateside DJs who can fuse—successfully, that is—a love of techno, house, electro, and old rave with his childhood roots in punk, hard core, R&B, soul, and classic jams. Ryan has kept some sterling company over the past 12 years, having performed alongside the likes of Ian Brown, Tim Sweeney, Maurice Fulton, Lady Sovereign, Cyprus Hill, Black Eyed Peas, Barry Weaver, Joakim, Kaos, DJ Medhi, Rub N Tug, Peaches, Broker/Dealer, DJ Godfather, Erasure, Egyptian Lover, DJ Hell, Spank Rock, and many more. Currently, Ryan is the host of Pancake Radio, a popular weekly show broadcast live on West Add Radio 93.7 FM, as well as a resident at several San Francisco club nights, including Booty Basement SF at the Knockout, Last Wednesdays at the Casanova Lounge, and Playboy at the Stud. |
MALY :: MANAGEMENT :: ENABLER
|
Maly Ly is the booking and promotions powerhouse behind Gun Club, repping a formidable status as one of the city's most rocket-fueled hostesses. Like her partner Ryan Poulsen, Maly got her start as a teenager prowling the underground rave scene—albeit, in her case, as a misfit young Goth girl with classical vocal training in Italian opera and a penchant for indie and electronic music. She has produced and/or promoted dance-music events for the past 14 years, beginning with legendary mid-'90s underground parties in the Bay Area and continuing in 2000 with Intersekt, one of the leading drum 'n bass/hip-hop nights in San Francisco, and iconic dance/rock monthly Loaded in 2003. Concurrently, Maly has breathed life into events and promotions for companies such as Microsoft, MTV, Ubisoft, LucasArts, Eidos, JetBlue, AMD, Red Bull and Toyota Scion among many others. With Gun Club, she has committed herself to putting San Francis co on the map as a global hub for forward-looking dance music—and as a town that throws down on the dance floor harder than anyone else. |

TRAVIS TK :: DJ |
Travis TK Disko is a mainstay in the San Francisco music scene. Armed with a crate full slightly different, completely funky and a totally eclectic far-out sound, his song selection is all over the map, but the flow from underground disco to electro, deep house, italo, acid then back, is rugged yet smooth and makes sense in a way you wouldn't think possible. With over 15 years djing experience he can be found rockin' SF joints like Diskotronik, Ga Ga and Gun Club alongside regular quests like Harvey, Maurice Fulton, Optimo, Alexander Robotnick, Egyptian Lover, Rub-n-Tug, Stacey Pullen, Metro Area, NYC Darling Pal Joey, Jovonn, Idjut Boys, Lindstrom, Carl Craig, Joe Clausell, Jeff Mills, Daniel Wang, Charles Webster, Irving Welsh, Doc Martin, the Wicked crew and more. |
